Design and Durability

The thin body is the headline. Unfolded it is only 4.4 or 4.8 mm thick, and folded it is 9.4 or 9.9 mm, which should make it easier to carry than most book-style foldables. vivo says the hinge is rated for 600,000 folds, and the company also says the phone can be folded underwater. The IP58 and IP59 ratings cover dust and water resistance.
Display
Inside is an 8.02-inch LTPO AMOLED panel. It has 2,504 x 2,312 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness rating of 5,000 nits. The resolution makes the panel almost square, which suits split-screen use. The 6.51-inch cover screen handles quick tasks without opening the phone.
Performance and Software
The phone uses a 3nm Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chip with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The chip’s main core reaches about 4.21 GHz.
On software, the China version runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 Fold, while a global listing shows Android 17 with OriginOS 7 Fold. Check which version you are buying. OriginOS Fold is tuned for large-screen multitasking.
Camera
The 200MP main camera is the biggest upgrade. It has optical stabilization and an f/1.68 aperture, and Zeiss T* coating. The ultrawide and periscope telephoto are both 50MP. The phone also supports vivo’s Zeiss teleconverter accessory for longer reach. Dual 20MP selfie cameras on the cover and inner screens make video calls possible in both folded and unfolded states.
Battery and Charging
A 7,000mAh battery is large for a foldable, and it combines vivo’s fifth-generation silicon-carbon technology with a semi-solid-state design. Charging is 80W wired and 40W wireless. Reverse wired charging and 5W reverse wireless charging are also supported.
Connectivity
The phone supports Wi-Fi 7, and vivo specifies a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port. The Chinese variant tested by Notebookcheck lacked 6 GHz Wi-Fi and eSIM support, so check these on the version you plan to buy. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor handles unlocking.
